Children from a local school in Ashton-under-Lyne have been busy designing their own bird boxes to be installed at our Harts Mead development
Our Manchester team has recently invited children from St Christopher's RC Primary and Nursery School to take part in a competition to paint their own bird box, where the three winning designs will be placed at its Harts Mead development.
Our team supplied St Christopher's RC Primary and Nursery School, which is located in Ashton-under-Lyne, with all the materials needed for the competition, and 31 children took part.
Our sales team from our Harts Mead development, were responsible for judging the designs and picked three winners for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place based on their eye-catching designs. As well as being chosen to have their bird boxes installed on our Harts Mead site, the winners - Jessica, Mia and Rosa - were also awarded with Waterstones gift vouchers.
Sam Evans, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Manchester, said: “We’re always looking for new and innovative ways to involve the local community in our developments, so we were delighted when St Christopher's RC Primary and Nursery School agreed to take part in our bird box competition.

Jessica Hulme, Art and Design Technology Leader and Year 4 teacher at St Christopher's RC Primary and Nursery School added: “We were delighted to take part in Taylor Wimpey Manchester’s bird box competition. The children had great fun coming up with the designs and painting their bird boxes. It’s really special that they’ve created something which will be installed at the Harts Mead development, and for such a great reason.
“Jessica, Mia and Rosa were delighted to win 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, and the other children thoroughly enjoyed taking part.”
